  1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana' to provide electricity to un-electri-fied households by March 2019. The scheme is named 'Saubhagya' and will provide subsidy on equipment like transformers, meters and wires. He said, over 16 thousand crore rupees will be spent on providing electricity to un-electri-fied households.
     
  2. The Union Cabinet has approved the enhancement of age of superannuation of doctors other than Central Health Service (CHS) doctors to 65 years. The decision will help in better patient care, proper academic activities in Medical Colleges as also in effective implementation of National Health Programmes for delivery of health care services.
     
  3. Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi chaired his twenty-second interaction through PRAGATI - the ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation. He reviewed the progress towards handling and resolution of grievances related to the banking sector.
     
  4. Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that linkage of rivers will help the farmers of our country to grow more crops and raise their earnings and contribute in the progress of the country as a result of increased irrigation facilities.   5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constituted a five-member Economic Advisory Council. The committee will analyse any issue economic or otherwise referred to it by the Prime Minister. Niti Aayog member Dr Bibek Debroy will head the council. Its other members are: Dr Surjit Bhalla, Dr Rathin Roy, Dr Ashima Goyal and Ratan Watal.
     
  6. The Union Cabinet has given its approval to the signing of the (i) Interbank Local Currency Credit Line Agreement and (ii) Cooperation Memorandum Relating to Credit Ratings by Exim Bank with participating member banks under BRICS Interbank Cooperation Mechanism.
     
  7. Investments in the domestic capital market through participatory notes, P-notes, plunged to a seven-and-a-half year low of 1.25 lakh crore rupees at August-end this year. 
     
  8. Gujarat will be the first big state where the coming Assembly elections will be conducted with Electronic Voting Machine equipped with Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT). State Chief Electoral Officer and Principal Secretary Mr. B. B. Sawain announced this at a press conference in Gandhinagar.

  11. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has won a fourth term in office after a general election in which her Christian Democratic Union party secured 33 percent of the vote, down about nine percent compared to the last election in 2013.
     
  12. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) has registered National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL) as an Information Utility (IU) under the IBBI (Information Utilities) Regulations, 2017. With this NeSL has become the first IU registered by the IBBI and the registration is valid for five years from the date of registration.
     
  13. The 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games concluded at Ashgabat in Turkmenistan. On the concluding day Indians grabbed four medals, including a gold through tennis player Sumit Nagal, to end at 11th place. Nagal bagged the men's singles gold medal in the tennis event as he outplayed compatriot Vijay Sundar Prashanth 6-1 6-1 in the all-Indian final.
     
  14. India will be hosting the South Asian Boxing Championship for the first time in Guwahati from December 6 to 10. Boxing Federation of India, BFI, after its executive committee meeting said, the country will also host the 'India International Open tournament' in New Delhi in the third week of January.
