SYLLABUS FOR ARTIFICER APPRENTICES AND SENIOR SECONDARY RECRUITS
INS Chilka located at Khurda Odisha is a Premier Naval Training Institution which provides basic training to all sailors of the Indian Navy. Special emphasis is laid on academics, naval orientation and services subjects. The trainee are uniformly trained for subsequent professional courses and acquire attitudes and basic skills essentially required in a potential sailor. The curriculum has been designed to develop mental and physical faculties essential for a career at sea.
Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Age - 17 - 20 years
Nationality - Indian or Gorkhas (Nepal)
Marital status - Unmarried male
Education - Qualified 10+2/ equivalent exam with subjects Maths, Physics, and Chemistry
Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR)
Age - 17 - 21 years
Nationality - Indian or Gorkhas (Nepal)
Marital status - Unmarried male
Education - Qualified 10+2/ equivalent exam with compulsory subjects, Maths and Physics, and optional objects of chemistry/ biology/ computer Sc.
